Re: Zipper Me Up
Doing another zipper this evening for a party and I hope to use my wickedly wild contacts I bought to really create the look.
Re: Zipper Me Up
I'm painting myself with a zipper look tomorrow night for a UV dance, I'll get some photos up soon!
I'm trying to work out the best way to glue on the zipper... Should I cut off the fabric and just use spirit gum or lash glue? or should I keep the fabric on and try to blend it into the skin? :/

Re: Zipper Me Up
Bought some zippers at a garage sale for a nickle a piece but haven't got around to trying a zipper design yet.
Re: Zipper Me Up
Trim the zipper and finish the edge with 'Fray check' if it wants to fray. You can get that at any sewing supply place. I got a huge bag of zippers at a hospital's 2nd hand store for super cheap! Doesn't matter if they're damaged. You're cutting them up anyway
If they don't have a latex allergy, liquid latex is the best for laying it down after you've marked out the space to paint and painted it. Lay down a strip of latex on the face and a strip on the zipper. Once it's dry to tacky stage, carefully lay the zipper down. You can't reposition or the latex will peel off so be sure of the position. It comes off so easy, just peel away.
My first zipper face I thought I'd blend the edge with some blending paste but by cleaning it all up first you save time and don't have to worry about blending I did a birthday party a couple weeks ago and after I did the 1st zipper face they all wanted one!
Here's a few I did at Halloween. Becstar was my inspiration and is the one to check out for the best designs.
Found out my daughter is allergic to latex!

I love the zipper look, and it looks from reading the posts that it doesnt matter really if it plastic, metal has fabric or not right?? I gotta keep my eye out for some, I really want to try it myself!!
