Proposal for face painting HELP.. Empty Proposal for face painting HELP..

Post by Nicole @ Face-a-Rama Mon Feb 27, 2012 2:16 pm

Hello all, I need help. A fairly large company in my area wants me to be their face painter for a large event that is coming up soon. All I have to do is write up a proposal. What? You want me to face paint or not?? lol. I guess this is apart of trying to grow your business by having proposals in your files. Well sad to say, I DON'T. Can someone help me out on what to put in my proposal for face painting???? Or give me tips on how to start it.... Thanks so much.

I wouldn't have the first idea of the format or contents of a "proposal" ... do they want a "quote" for your services detailing what would be included? An invoice? Proposals are something that I only ever hear about in the context of large corporations and stuff. I would say, that you should probably ask them what things they want included in this mysterious document.

I have a "proposal" I don't know how to post a PDF file here, but this is what it is:
Pictures of full faces, cheek art, tattoos and crazy hair, with the number of kids I can do on each and then the list of packages
1. full faces + tattoos + hair 10 kids per hour $...
2. cheek art 15 kids per hour $...
additional artist $.... etc.
Works for me because it helps them to decide, for big events they want everything with 2 artist, but for small family picnics the want "easy and quick" but they have the pictures and now what to expect.

Writing a proposal begins with a project description, a list of materials required for the project and a statement of appreciation. (I googled this info:-)

I think what they may actually be looking for is a written quote to present to a superior so they can best decide which entertainers to go with.

I'd include the cost per hour, any discount you'd offer (if it's a long standing gig or all day gig). Can you provide multiple entertainers/services, are you insured/licensed, will you need or can you provide a tent, will you need parking, etc.

Yeah, they probably have a company policy that requires them to get one or more proposals. You send them a letter stating what you will provide, for how long, at what price, and general outline of terms, requirements etc.

I have done soooo many proposals...give me a few minutes and I can do a mock up one for you!!! Just add in your things...I believe Shannon Fennell may even have one on her site. She has a lot of downloadable (sp? LOL) documents.

I would just provide a written quote on letterhead with samples of work. Essentially it is a bid for the job. Like was already said, they probably require tenders for all jobs and are looking to provide the usual 3 quotes before choosing one. Doesn't mean lowest gets the job, just that they have procedures to follow for purchasing.

OK here is a very very basic set up of a proposal. I worked in an office where all we did was type up proposals allll dayyyy!!! My creative brain went crazy there LOL! Well I hope this helps! You can type this up on microsoft word. Super easy, and you can add your logo at the type left by your name, address, etc. Play with the font, add a couple picture samples...you get the idea.

Omg this is so helpful with all the information. I love the sample proposal because I was lost. I look the format up online and it was to detailed. All I wanna do is face paint. Lol. This forum has been so helpful I'm learning a lot. May will be my year anniversary for face painting and I'm loving it. Thanks for the help.
