What's on your business cards?
Where do you get them?
I visited VistaPrinting,
But I'm exploring.
I'm not sure how to lay out,
Or what to put on, my business cards,
So pictures and suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. Very Happy

The one thing I do is to print the directions to remove the paint on the back. This is something all parents want to know and gives me lots of confidence when pushing the card on them. LOL

Here's a pic of my card. It's the same design as when I first started several years ago so most of the pics are heavily inspired by other artists, but it's so popular with kids (they love to pick their design off the card) that I've just not changed it. It has removal instructions and other FAQ on the back.

I LOVE IT! I love you
Is there any way I could maybe see the back?
Just the instructions.
I'm not sure,
Which sounds really dumb, bom
What exactly I should write about taking the paint off Laughing

Business Cards! Buscard

This is mine... I've edited the back a little the last time I had them printed - added email and deleted the clown.

Doh!

Thanks to whoever started this thread. I was just about to post a pic of my new business cards (just arrived yesterday), and was looking over it and discovered that "mitzvah" was spelled wrong. Sad

How my husband, his mother, a friend, and I ALL missed the mispelling is beyond me, but whatever. At least I caught it before I started handing these out. ::sigh::

They were really inexpensive from Vista Print so I can just fix it an order more, but I hate to throw them all out... It would be terrible to write in the "z" for my event this weekend, wouldn't it?

Post by Guest Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:20 am

Would look kind've unprofessional to write it on I think... BUT, that being said, when I moved I printed labels with my new phone number to place over my old number on my cards --- seeing as I had JUST ordered another 1000. We weren't planning to move... but within a week had looked, offered, and got a mortgage... Rolling Eyes

You can get quite small labels - could you print off the word on labels to cover the incorrect one?

And I forgot to say, I get mine (and my postcards too) printed professionally by a local print shop. They do the design layout for me too - I rough it out and they make it nice.

Heater, maybe you can take a sharp marker and just line through the word completely so you can't see it. I think that might look better than correcting the typo with a pen. I would definitely pass them out if they are all you have. Better to have misspelled cards than NO cards!

I have two sided cards. Color on front, b&w on back. THe front just has cartoony kids that have face paint and my contact info. The back is washing instructions (great excuse to hand them out) and a thank you for your business. I get them from gotprint.com which after all was said n done, was cheaper than vista. I think I got 500 for 19 with shipping, and it was even cheaper as you up the amount of cards.

I also have one with "washing instructions", that I give out on jobs (that is not included in the two per day)
Next time I will have one with beauty makeup as well!

Getting ready to print some new cards to replace the ones with the misspelling, and thought I'd get everyone's opinion. These are tented business cards - the pic is the front and back of the card (the inside has aftercare and removal instructions for face painting and glitter tats); first pic shows the front right side up, second pic shows the back front side up.

Thoughts and suggestions are welcome. Smile

I'd be interested in knowing what everyone puts down for removal instructions. I don't have a business at this point, and pretty much dabble in face painting. Would be nice to tell people the proper way besides "Wash it off", if there is a proper/best way.

Thanks!

Business Cards! Empty Re: Business Cards!

This is what the back of mine says:

Face Painting and Body Art
after care and removal Instructions

Face Painting

While we use only FDA-compliant, professional, cosmetic-grade, water-based products, please remember that wearing a face painting creation is a bit like wearing regular make-up – while it is not required, it’s best to remove the design before bedtime. To remove the makeup, use a dark cloth (washing the face rubs the paint into the cloth and main stain it) and a gentle cleanser. Baby or kids’ shampoos work well because of their “tear-free” feature. Lather, wipe, rinse, and repeat – but NO scrubbing; scrubbing can irritate gentle faces. While trace stains may occasionally remain, they can be easily removed by applying a moisturizing lotion, waiting at least 30 minutes, and washing again.

Glitter Tattoos

Properly cared for tattoos will last approximately 3 to 7 days, depending on the skin type and where the design is placed. They last longer on dry skin than on oily skin and they won't last as long if they get rubbed by your clothing. For best results, your skin should be clean, dry, and free of oils or moisturizers before application. To prolong the life of your tattoo, wash it gently with a mild soap and NO cloth. Pat, DO NOT RUB, the area dry. Glitter tattoos can be removed by using rubbing alcohol. Let the alcohol soak into the tattoo for 1 – 2 minutes, then rub with a cloth, OR soak the tattoo with a warm, wet washcloth or in a tub or pool. Once the tattoos have been soaked, they can be easily removed with a washcloth.

EDITED TO ADD: I'm pretty sure at least part (if not more) of the removal instructions came from what Cindy Trusty has listed on the back of her cards. She posted it once a long time ago on another list, and I C&Ped and edited it. My paper version (i used to hand out half sheets of paper) was longer and more "cutesy," but business cards have limited space, so a lot of the cutesy got cut out.

I'm in the process of making a new business card, one with instructions how to remove face and bodypaint, and one for taking care of temporary tattoos/henna.
I wanted them to be the same style, with one big picture showing the cards main focus and them some of what I else do (thought about adding special effects, but I so rarely do it)
What do you think? One of them I would like to make as a banner as well, but not sure which one is best. Maybe a mix?

Remove paint with a mild soap and wash cloth.

Baby wipes are not recommended for removal.

If staining occurs, wash again the following day to avoid irritating delicate skin.

Do not sleep in face paint.

Wow, you're amazing painters...I've got a LOT to learn! I never did go to "Art" school--i was a voice major--but I've always been artistic, and my mom and sister are both professional artists. SO--it's in the blood, but not the brain! I need to take some classes. Anyone know if anyone's coming to the twin cities????

I work at a print shop and design a lot of business cards... my own cards are just simple and have no pictures because thus far I haven't gotten any good ones of painted kids, and I'd feel silly putting myself on there Laughing Though since I'm the face painter I don't guess it would be silly, would it? Or I could just draw something...

The pumpkin is 12 and the wolf is 14. I didn't have photos of someone younger that I thought was good enough (or I didn't have permission to use them)

I hope to meet you next summer! I plan to go back again, I'm carpooling this time instead of flying, it'll be cheaper and it's only a 12 hr drive. Make sure you apply for the scholarship, they made a lot on the auction this year so they should be giving out quite a few of them.
