I noticed lately that there has been some unsolicited plugs of other's websites. Please refer to this posting under

Please understand that running this forum is not free for me and does take a lot of my time. Again, if someone says, where did you get this or that, I have no problem if you direct someone, but please don't advertise others that I may be competing with at my expense.

I do so hope that everyone understands and will respect this request.

Hey Metina,

I'm new, so please forgive my ignorance, but could I have an example of what you mean? Are we not allowed to talk about other forums? Or are we not allowed to talk about other distributors of face and body art supplies (and is that all face and body art supplies, or just certain supplies?) Or...? I guess I'm just a little confused as to what we should refrain talking about, and I don't want to step on anyone's toes.

One is looking for something and Shannon has directed them to two different sources.

I have no problem talking about other brands, other forums and even other face paint shops if the topics are about those and there is a legitimate need for information. I myself have even refered other shops for items I don't carry.

I would rather not give specific examples as not to hurt anyone's feels who has done this unitentionally.

I know some of my members have asked me why I don't post on Gary and Kim's lists about the forum and I explain that while I am a member of both and post as "Metina" on the occation, it is unprofessional and unethical to poach what Gary and Kim have worked so long to build.

I hope this makes it clearer.

I can give you an example. I recently posted an announcement about an upcoming jam and inadvertently included two links to other web stores.
I basically just cut and pasted the information from a flyer without thinking.

Metina caught the error, brought it to my attention and corrected it for me.
