Elmo and Cookie Monster
Does anyone have any designs for Elmo and Cookie that are good for line work? I did watch a you tube video yesterday but it took the guy like 5 for Elmo and 7 to do Cookie. Need something for this weekend.
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
I think Maggie had a really cute elmo design that you could probaly interchange b/w elmo and cooke. I'm not sure how long it took her. But I hope that helps.

Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
oops sorry, i guess since you posted this in the balloon twisting section you were after balloons!!! Doh! Keep messing up tonight. Might be time for bed me thinks!
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
Well it was still cool to get to see the face paint and other hats. But, yes I was sort of wanting some balloon twists. Thank you for writing though. I am grateful for friends that want to help me out!
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
Shonna Flannigan uses a red bear (geo) balloon then just adds the eyes and arms.
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
SUUUUPER quick stick monster versions, but still recognizable.
Inflate 260 leaving a 1.5-2.0" tail. Small bubble (1/2"), flower petal, small 1/2" bubble, flower petal.
Make eyes out of 5" round. Add nose for Elmo and twist around eyes. attach to 260 1.5" from last twist. Feed tail end through both flower petals. Add artwork. 45 seconds! (Maybe up to 2 minutes tops.)
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
I gave the stick cookie monster a try.....nowhere as cute as yours Kristal.
I will keep practicing though, they are adorable.

Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
They were a total hit. I did some with basic bodies and some as sticks. I like drawing my eyes better than using the eye balloons, cause cookie looked like a fish more than cookie since the rounds went sideways LOL! But I didn't have a good stock of 5" rounds so I had to make due. Thanks Kristal!
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
those are really super!! look forward to trying them -
Krystal - can I post to my guild? I will credit you ofcourse.

Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
Anyone willing to do a step by step by tutorial on these? I just can't seem to grasp how they come together. Thanks!

Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
I wanted to thank Kristal for posting her Elmo and Cookie Monster stick puppets.
I used the design to twist a load of what I called muppet puppets for a big event here and they were super popular.

Post away! And credit, I believe, actually goes to someone on Clown Forum...I can't remember who though, lol.
Liz - YAY! I'm so glad to hear that they went over well! I like what you did with the long scrap noses.
For the eyes, instead of twisting with the nozzle to one side, try twisting them in half with the nozzle on the top - then you can wrap the nozzle end around the twist. A) this helps to keep the halves separated, and B) it hides the nozzle!
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
Great job Krystal! I am not a balloon twister, I am just amazed at how you all can do it! I enjoy looking at the designs.
Re: Elmo and Cookie Monster
I absolutely love Shonna's elmo and cookie monster designs done with the Betallatex Big Bear Head balloons. You can see examples at http://adventureinfun.com/ or http://www.simplyshonna.balloonhq.com/.
I just took her workshop at TJAM on the Road in Philly. I also have the dvd for the big bear heads. It is really helpful because those balloons need to be blown up in a very particular way otherwise they burst.
The body shape is the same for other characters like my little bunnies here (I have the children help customize the faces)
