I haven't seen the movie yet, and I really should have since I AM a viking and have little kids that want to see it Very Happy

Anyway, here are a couple of the dragons I've tried to replicate. There's a couple more I'm going to try too. 'Monstrous Nightmare' and 'Gronckle'. None of these names are viking in any way, but whatever Laughing

'Toothless'

'Deadly Nadder'

Here's what they're like in the movie:

Be my guest Very Happy That's what this forum is all about, eh?

Toothless is kinda hard, cuz he's just black...I added dark and light blue for highlights with a sponge and then some white. The eyes are just layers of white then green, then yellow and of course black and white. A nice flat and wide face would be good for this dragon.

Nadder is mostly DFX metallic baby blue. I used dark blue to give some 'scales'. My model is only just 4 years old, and although he was very patient, I exceeded his tolerance for sitting on this one. LOL. He had fun scaring anyone he could all afternoon though.

I love toothless!!

This kid said he wanted his toothless to have blue in his eyes instead of the yellow. I kinda just did the basic batman mask and put toothless' head on it.

I finally got a chance to paint 'Terrible Terror'... Keep in mind this is on a little 4 year old that has a hard time sitting still. He's a cutie though and a big fan of the movie. He went to baseball practice with his brother's team tonight like this. I had to paint 'flaming' baseballs and stars on my kids and this little guy's brother so they didn't feel left out. LOL

I used snaz yellow and orange on the eyes. DFX light green, snaz yellow and white on the face. Some DFX brown and black around the eyes. The nose is white, brown and pink. The nose horn is paradise red and DFX brown and black. The horns on the top of the head are DFX brown, paradise light brown and DFX black. A higher brow would give room for longer horns.

Ohhh... and you WILL ... hee hee. This is too fun! Especially when the model loves it so much. When he had to wash off 'Nadder' was the first time he cried when having to wash off a 'facepaint'.
