dry brushing
I keep hearing this be referred to, yet it seems like everybody already knows what it is except me! What on earth is dry brushing? I hear people say things like "just dry brush it together" or "after a little dry brushing".
Huh?
I tried to use a dry brush on my paint, but it didn't even smudge the paint, so how does this work?

Re: dry brushing
If it is what I believe it is. You want to make sure the paint you put on with a one brush is slightly still wet. Then go in and brush it with another brush that is completly dry. Sometimes I had to add a tad more paint on the dry brush with paint that was just about dry. Here is a picture of a butterfly I did with that technique.

Yep that's what I do take a dry brush over wet paint and drag. When working with Wolfe or Tag I may have to very lightly dampen to get the proper effect

It'd do you a lot of good to just practice using just black and learn how to blend it out and shade with it. It really gives a more realistic look and dimension. I do it a lot always trying to get better. Here's some I used black and blended for practice on my sons back as a canvas.
