There is a bomb-diggety sale at buycostumes and the reviews from "average users" are favorable, but, I'm having trouble tracking down info on the actual makeup.

Has anyone had any experience with this brand of makeup?

Hi! I'm very familiar with Don Post; they are a company who create latex masks. Usually full, over the head Halloween masks. They created some vintage, classic Universal Monster masks back in the 60s which were sold through Famous Monsters Magazine, and are now highly collectible.

Their makeup, on the other hand, is not very good. I would shy away from it, even on clearance. Stick with pro brands like Ben Nye or Kryolan for crème makeup, or Premier Products for alcohol-activated makeup. As for ready-to-use prosthetics, look for Woochie brand. They make pretty good stuff, and are the standard.

Thanks, Mark! I appreciate the guidance.

I'm grabbing a few of the cheap latex appliances as I figure I can re paint them and add to them w/my own latex. I had a blast making wounds last year and still have a whole bunch of them... love fx makeup!

Yup, its fun. Lots of work, but fun. How did you make your own appliances?

latex, cornflakes, coffee grounds, tp, gauze... can't remember what else. Latex, coffee grounds and fake blood made the best road rash burns you've ever seen!!
