stipple sponge alternative?

Hey, all!!!

I was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for a stipple sponge alternative?
I can't find mine and I am doing some bruising for the first time.......

Bathroom sponges.

You mean a brus to make dots??? I just use a normal 4 brush, load with enough paint and just give a dot. But maybe i don't understand your question.

I've always just used a normal facepainting sponge for bruising. I load them pretty dry and dab rather than swiping.

Otherwise, a natural sea sponge is a really great texture. Or if you must have a stipple sponge, mosey down to the pet shop and pick up a fish filter sponge Pretty sure its the same stuff.

Scruffy brush loaded with drier paint, stencil brush, filter material, wad of netting like oranges come in, sea sponge loaded drier . . . let us know what works for you.

Did you know that aquarium shops sell giant filter sponges for aquariums for about $1 that I paid $3 for 1/16th the size. I am so grateful my husband needed me to go to Big Al's Aquarium Services for a special light bulb for his fish at the studio.

Yeah, aquarium filter. It comes in white or beige, not black like the over priced one inch cubes make-up retailers sell ya.

Mine was black, but it just recently disappeared. Couldn't get to the pet supply place, and good old Wally World didn't have it, so I bought a bath brush and used it tonight. It wasn't too bad. not flexible, but I made do.

Thanks guys!!! I ended up using a reg. fp sponge, drier, and it worked ok....we have another rehearsal on Wed....I will go the the pet store and see what I can find! Thanks again for all of the suggestions!!!
