1st Comic-Con - went as Shrek & Fiona
It was my 11th anniversary yesterday and my husband loves me so much he let me dress him up as Shrek and I went as Fiona to my very 1st Mega Comic-con! I really don't know anything about comics, but I wanted to check out the body art competition they had so maybe I'll go in it next year. Totally will by the way.
My husband is 6' 10" so he makes an awesome Shrek. I made the costumes a few years back for Halloween. He hates to dress up and hates makeup even more. I've used Fantasy worldwide paint on him before and this time I used Starblends. I mixed the green and yellow together to get the lighter green colour of Shrek. I think I need to invest in an airbrush in the not too distant future. Starblends was definitely better comfort level for him. I used a makeup primer first and that really worked great. I'd redone my nose design and where I'd wiped it off and redid it, the starblends didn't last as long. So when you're doing full face, I recommend starblends.
Everyone wanted to have their photo taken with Shrek & Fiona! We should have charged for them! I of course had to go back out like this and do a little grocery shopping after we got back home.
My husband was happy to meet wrestler 'Honky Tonk Man' and visit awhile.

Those are great! I am planning on going to my first comic con next year here in San diego Ca and I am so shy I would be so scared to dress up but I will think about it.

You know, I've counted myself out of doing princess parties (where you dress up as a princess etc) as now I'm not really the right physique for it... but Fiona could work.
I'm not saying you are fat BTW - you look great in your costumes!!! I love your dress! And donkey... I just realized that Fiona as an ogre is definitely a more curvy-friendly figure to emulate...

We're statuesque!
Fiona's much more realistic than Cinderella in my mind anyway
A friend just sent me a message that her kids saw our photos on facebook and want our autographs! LOL

Yes - I also always liked the term "Rubenesque". I'm sure once Cinderella moved to the castle she put on a few pounds, too.
You should totally send those autographs. Cute.

You both look fantastic. Wow, your hubby looks awesome. Were the "eyes" painted on his closed eyelids? Just curious

Haha, that is so awesome, it is my dream for my hubby to let me dress (and paint!) him up with me!

yes, I painted his eyes on his lids
He's not a fan of dressing up so I'm really grateful! I'd love to dress him up a jockey in a satin suit holding a sign 'Lost Job...will work for food'
