Ninjago/Ninja
Hi everyone - I saw the "infamous Ninja" thread, I believe it was called, but I'm looking for a more "kid friendly" Ninja, if that makes sense. My sons and all their friends are completely consumed with the Lego Ninjago toys and cartoon right now and it seems the only way they will let me paint them is if I do the "green Ninja". Other than slapping a bunch of green (or red or blue or black or white) and yellow paint on them, I'm at a loss! Help please!
Re: Ninjago/Ninja
I do not have a picture of my ninja, but I will try to post one soon. It is what I would refer to as "paint intensive," as it consists of a lot of paint.
Basically, I do a base in one color all around the face, except around the eyes (like a ninja mask). Then, I outline the top half like I would outline a pirate bandanna (because a lot of ninja "masks" are actually a two pieces - a mask and a bandanna/scarf thing). Add a bit of highlighting and shadowing, and you have a very easy to paint (but hard to wash off) ninja.

Re: Ninjago/Ninja
Great idea! I have been inspired to paint a ninjago mask! My son is obsessed with these characters! I can't imagine why I never thought of it!
That said, I have tried three times this morning to capture the elusive ninjago, and I have failed every time. It doesn't seem like it should be that hard, but I can't seem to pull him off just right. I'll have to continue work on him later, because my face is raw from washing it.
Note: Starblends are great until you need to wash them off. Then they feel like sand particles scrubbing off the delicate layers of facial tissue. OWWW.
Imma get this...

No picture, but what I've done in the past is a mask style. Then paint the mask like strips of overlapping fabric. Kinda a mummy mask.

oh damn, now I want to paint a ninja, and my daughter won't be willing to cooperate on a boy design
Re: Ninjago/Ninja
I am getting ready to paint at a Ninjago themed birthday party. I airbrushed this on my son and I think it sort of resembles a Ninjago. It's weird how simple a Ninjago looks but it is really hard to interpret onto a face.
